FAQ: Boudoir

What is boudoir exactly?

The textbook definition of boudoir is a woman’s private room. Boudoir style photographs gained popularity during the second World War as the rise of pin-up girls in magazines. (ala Vargas girls) Modern day boudoir can take many shapes as each photographer has their own version. My take on boudoir is intimate, documentary and shows the very best of YOU.

I have never done a boudoir session before, what can I expect?

Upon booking with me, we will have a consultation call to go over the process and what you would expect on the day of. I can walk you through every step of your session to ease your mind.

Where will my session be?

I work with various studios on the Front Range, both in Colorado Springs and Denver. All have their own unique look and are very private settings.

Do I have to be naked?

Absolutely not. I always let you take the lead with what you are most comfortable with.

What do I wear?

This is my favorite part! Part of your consultation call is dedicated to the dreaded question of “WHAT DO I WEAR?’ Don’t worry, I’ve got you. Not all boudoir is skimpy lingerie and heels as much as what you see when you look up “boudoir photos” on the almighty google. Wear what you would be most comfortable in. A super cute matching bra & panty set? An oversized sweater and cable knit thigh highs? The possibilities are endless.

Do you offer hair & make up?

Unfortunately I do not, you are more than welcome to do your own or have it done before our session.

If you any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
